Rear ended a car this morning.
On the way to work this morning I rear ended a car. I hit
the anchors just before, and was not going too fast when we collided. (Ok I was not going fast at all in the video, still warming up). I did not realise exactly what happened until I go home this evening and watched the video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EkxFXURsI3U (Oh and watch the indicators on the car). Martin. |

So you were not watching the road ahead? as for the indicators, the car indicated right to make it's right turn, so what's the problem? The car's left brake light is out though. |

Probably for the best. I did not realise exactly what happened until I go home this evening and watched the video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EkxFXURsI3U (Oh and watch the indicators on the car). And the missing brake light. My thought on seeing the dent was "they've done that before" :-) (seriously, silly boy. But you'll have learned from it :-) ) cheers, clive |

So you were not watching the road ahead? Cars normally pull out and just go here. as for the indicators, the car indicated right to make it's right turn, so what's the problem? The car's left brake light is out though. The problem was that she cancelled the indicator just before applying the brakes. In between I took my eyes off the road in front for a moment, and mistook the brake lights turning on as her still indicating from turning into the road. |

You may count yourself suitably blessed that you didn't career into my car - or you would still be removing various components of your cycle from your anus. This post (and the gleeful braying that accompanies it) exemplifies the fundamentally vile nature of most cyclists - the fact that motorists still take the trouble to avoid running over you all is, surely, a glowing testament to our self-restraint. |

It doesn't look like she did! |

She stopped to let it pass probably not realising that despire parked cars either side that the road is actually wide enough for both of them to squeeze through at the same time. Nick. |

Should watch where you're going. Mind you, we've all done it. In my yoof, in the pooring rain, at night, I hit a parked car and didn't even touch it. Not a dent on it, bike fine, but I sailed right over the top. Very impressive for a few seconds, then Gravity demands to know what's happening and calls you to account. |

Need to be more alert & keep further back then. Sorry to be picky, but if you collided, then you were going too fast for the circumstances. It's what we'd be saying to a motorist who rear-ended another person.. Glad you aren't hurt. Glad no-one was hurt. Indeed you're lucky not to be castigated by the motorist for even small damage to the vehicle. You won't be doing that again ;-) |
