Default Ullrich at the Tour of Britain?

Don't know whether he was around for the finish. But he turned up
"unexpectedly" at the ToB dinner on the Saturday night. Wonder what Eddy
Merckx thought of it - he was the guest speaker.

But Jan just sat down and had his meal, surrounded by a bevy of blondes.
Seemed like a really regular guy. Looked damn fit, too.

There was a good article in the Grauniad (for once) with a decent pic
from the last stage. Mentioned how Ullrich looks very thin in RL, and
only looks podgy next to Armstrong who was described as 'skeletal'.
Apparently he gor a standing ovation when he walked in, then on Sunday
watched the last stage and said the 'make the sponsor happy' things
about wanting to ride ToB next year, and how he had been really
impressed with the London stage.

So it could be really good next year.

There's an interview with Jan Ullrich on British Eurosport, during tomorrows
coverage of the Vuelta.

I wonder if one of them was his current 'bit of fluff', the Sister of
his T-Mobile team mate Tobias Steinhauser?

The dinner was held in Eddy's honour, last year he was guest speaker
this year he was 'honoured guest.'

But Jan just sat down and had his rounded by a bevy of blondes.

If I recall correctly he can't have eaten much as it was on the third
course, (roast beef and Yorkshire) when he made his entry, didn't see
him the next day though

It will be interesting to see if he was talking up T-Mobile's
investment or putting down a marker for next year. If the latter
will that draw other top pros?

I would be interested to see Jan tackle teh Yorkshire section.
