Default Cyclist treated like motorist would be.

A court in Tokyo has ordered a cyclist to pay nearly half a million US
dollars in damages to the family of an elderly woman he knocked down and
killed.

The 46-year-old was ordered to pay the 47m yen ($459,000; £278.82m)
after he ran into the 75-year-old woman at a pedestrian crossing.

The judge said he wanted the case to serve as an example to other
cyclists that bicycles can be deadly weapons.

High time these silent killers were regulated.

I see that currency conversion is not your strong point.

47M yen ~ £278,820, not £278,820,000 as you state.

Sorry, your point is?

My name is Dave and I am a complete ****** because I ignore the fact
that most cyclists are also motorists who pay tax and insurance. I also
ignore the fact - or rather become insulting about the fact - that
cyclists are such a low risk that they are actually given their
insurance for free.

I didn't state it oh thick one. I suggest you complain to the BBC.

No comment on the cyclist. I can understand why.

Re-stating an error does not absolve you from having stated that
error.

For example, if I state "you are an moron", I cannot absolve myself of
having made this statement if you are an imbecile, simply because
someone else has classified you as a moron.

No comment on the cyclist. I can understand why.

Don't be too hard on him - he is not that bright you know.

He seems to want to talk about anything but cycling.

Perhaps he has realised he has lost the cycling plot.

Poor old Bertie ******: he thinks that if you post a clear link to a news site,
then you are personally responsible for it.

He should stick to taking the dog out for a walk - or pull him/her along on his
push bike. he could even take it in to Sainsbury's. (That's the push-bike -
not the dog)

Still no little cycling stories - I wonder why?

Perhaps you've given it up as you don't really understand it: just like you
had to give up teaching as you could not comprehend the kids (or vice versa)
