Insurance - House, Contents & Bicycles?
All,
I currently have my house & contents (icld. bike) insured with a specialist policy via a broker. I just happened upon www.cyclecover.com.au and got a quote. They are substantially cheaper than my current provider. Anyone have any feedback on this product - good or bad? Thanks, Craig |

Insurance - House, Contents & Bicycles?

They are substantially cheaper than my current provider. Anyone have any feedback on this product - good or bad? Thanks, Craig I've had a policy with them for a few months, but haven't had to make a claim - so obviously can't comment on how they perform in that department. A few things impressed me with the policy however - besides covering accidental damage and theft for bikes Australia wide up to their total value, not $1000 as with most standard home & contents policies(you can also get optional cover for racing), this cover extends to all of your other valuables as well. So, for example, if your laptop is stolen from anywhere, it's covered. Similarly, if you're moving your HD big screen tv ;-) from one room to another and you drop it, it's covered (so is your laptop if the tv happens to land on it) Most home contents policies these days don't include accidental damage as standard, so this is a welcome inclusion. The policy is underwritten by QBE, but you've got to go through Cyclecover to get it. Having been involved in a bike accident recently and having to rely on the other party's insurance company to come through wasn't a load of fun, so at the very least you'll get some peace of mind knowing that your expensive bike is covered in case something unforeseen happens. Good luck! |

Thanks, Craig i suspect this may be the same that BV recommend (not the aprt-o membership one) as its the same 'attached-to-home+contents' policy.. -- flyingdutch |
