When I was a kid in Kirkcudbright the bike shop was kept by a man called Wullie Law. He was patient and informative and taught me a great deal of what I know about fixing bikes. The shop is still there, now run by his grand-daughter, and still sells a few bikes. It wasn't until long after the old man was dead that I was told that he'd ridden the Tour. I still don't know how to verify whether this is true. But if it is I'm even more astounded by how modest a man he was. So he rode the Tour. So what. If he was modest about it he had it right. It is something to be modest about. All this hoopla about the Tour is total insanity. It is disgusting the way some cyclists carry on about the g.d. Tour. After all, it is a French thing and we all know what the French are worth -traitors to Western Civilization. What the French do best is stab others in the back. Any praise for the Tour sickens me as does any reflection on the nation of France. They are a nation of whores and were in bed with Sadaam Hussein. Please, spare me any crapolla about the ****ing Tour. -- Regards, Ed Dolan the Great - Minnesota |

Can we please eliminate the one of the remaining travesties the French have imposed on the world - the French tire sizing system? A real understanding of diplomacy and realpolitik. Also intelligent, thoughtful, cultured, artistic and creative. They also know quite a bit about cycling. In summary, about as different from Minnesotans as it is possible to get. Realpolitik is perfectly acceptable. All nations do it. But it should never be done at the expense of core values - and the French are always doing precisely that. Sometimes the French are not much better than the Nazis. What was Napoleon if not another Hitler. The French would liked to have done what Hitler did (conquer Europe), but they were too feckless and screwed up to manage it. Did you not read my post where I said the French only pretend to be civilized. They aren't of course. They have always been pigs and about on the level of Nazi Germany. May the Devil take them! By the way, did you not know that Minnesota is part of the Heartland of America? I am taking lots of medication to keep it down, but every time I think of the French I can feel it going up. I will blow a gasket if I am not careful. Oh, how dreadful for you. Have I told you how much I admire and respect the French? Simon sounds like a French name to me, so that would explain your lack of discrimination. You ought to emigrate to that pig sty known as France. I am sure the English would be glad to get rid of you. An Englishman who admires and respects the French is a contradiction in terms. It is what is known as an oxymoron. -- Regards, Ed Dolan the Great - Minnesota |

Well, the French were right about the weapons of mass destruction, weren't they? And they were right about Vietnam, snip Just to remind everyone, the French have never been right about anything - ever! Even the French Revolution was all screwed up. The English managed to reform their monarchy much better. The French are nothing but eternal **** ups. What year did DIEN BIEN PHU (sp?) become part of the French vocabulary? It should be a reminder of getting their asses kicked out of Vietnam by the North Vietnamese. Anyone can look up the correct spelling of a place name if they so choose. It is enough to spell English place names correctly. I am not ever going to bother much with Asian languages, especially not for the kind of numskulls that populate newsgroups. The French deserved to get their asses kicked out of Vietnam, but South Vietnam did not deserve to come under the Communist yoke. If the US had showed a bit more staying power it would never have happened. Those who think it was OK for North Vietnam to prevail have blood on their hands and are despicable beyond measure. -- Regards, Ed Dolan the Great - Minnesota |

Recumbent Racer Glen Drury sets course record
That is quite an impressive accomplishment. Who is the rider and what bike did he ride? Was he in a F-40? Stan Vinson P38 .................................................. .................... .................................................. ....... Recumbent cycles entered the 400km cycle for the first time (as a separate category), with Glen Druryclocking the impressive time of 11:57:37. With the popularity of the recumbents, the race is likely to be open next year to other specialist cyclists (all scored in different categories). Of the regular cyclists, the best time was from David Simpfendorfer of the Filthy Armadillo team, with 13:46:17. http://www.srichinmoyraces.org/au/results/ultrareport Ultra Joe |

Hayes El Camino Disc Brakes Fastest disc brakes in the Universe
The El Camino features Power Adjust Dial, which modulates braking power by +/-10%. The Mono-Block caliper is forged using 6061-T6 aluminum while the open back design allows improved airflow across the pads. If you are a fat old ignorant white man from Minn do not buy these brakes. Nothing will stop your sorry ass when you need to stop. The rotating banjo hose attachment offers optimal hose placement. Perfect for all the hose heads on A.R.B.R. Chester |
