yeesshh .. much to my credit the only time i use my ipod cycling is while
touring and occassionally up the relatively car-free 18-mile hill climb
to the ski resort that is literally right in my backyard (jealous terry?).

ok, blatant bragging over .. ohh, i'm sure i had a point.

ohhhhh, yea. on those occassions i use a helmet as a headphone retention
system. on the road that's pretty much the only time i wear a helmet (given
my mountain biking record it's a good thing i wear it then).

but i'm gonna look like a dork wearing ear wallets in the summer.

check out your local ski shop, or online, for XC ski earmuffs. Swix
makes some thin ones that are just perfect. Just enough to keep the
wind off the ears. When it gets REALLY cold I put a helmet cover on to
block air vents.

I've also tried the ones that slip over your ears without a top band,
but they always seemed to have a problem popping off and I kept losing
them.
