Default a new road danger

Was at a friend's place, they had a TV (that's my excuse, I'm sticking
to it). Saw an ad for a new landbarge, some Nissan thing, with some
bloke hosing it off and them some woman getting into it to barge around
town. "the 4wd for the city" or some crap.

So there's the Toyota playdoh, and now the Nissan "urban asaulter".
*sigh*. Maybe some turd in a Humvee (the ultimate "**** the world, I
don't care" vehicle) will crush them all, and then run out of money to
pay for fuel and they'll all disapear? One can but hope ...

That add ****s me as well - it actually says that this is the vehicle to
convince all those people who thought they would never drive a 4WD in
the city. WTF are they on? Why are they trying to convince people to
drive a 4WD in the city?? (rhetorical question - I know the answer is
that they just want to make money any way they can)

What are they on? Capitalism of course.

They want to sell more stuff. Never mind the consequences, they don't
have to wear them, that's someone else's problem. Welcome to the Free
Market.

Now... if the damn things weren't subsidised all ways to Sunday so
drivers had to pay the full cost, might be different.... take more to
sell them than a bit of wish fulfillment.

That's because you ride motorcycles that break down all the time

Nah. It's because I really really want to get into observed trials!

nothing about last month.

Hmm, I thought I said that (or words to that effect) just after your
snip. I assume you just wanted to emphasise the point..

Saw it too, thought it was crap. But on a lighter note, in the same break
was the new Tooheys advert, the one where they're lobbing stuff into the
air with trebuchets. Now *that* is a great advert! Mind you, I can't work
out why those two women get thrown into the cloud, maybe they just wanted
rid of them?

I wouldn't hold your breath for it. The auto industry seems obsessed
with producing larger and larger tanks that guzzle the fuel remaining
faster. We all know this will end in disaster but they don't seem to be
listening. Meanwhile, I continue to ride, assuming I don't tangle with
one of these overbearing monsters.
Cheers,
Ray
