How horribly British. Brilliantly British, more like. A ride to the beach for fish and chips followed by ice cream sounds absolutely lovely. Once this lockdown is lifted, what fun we'll all be able to have again. It's not the bike ride but the idea of eating fish and chips followed by ice cream which is yucky. I wish it weren't so but there are some 'chipshop chips' I can eat as a meal on their own (tomato sauce is a bonus). As for dessert, my favourite would be an ice cream sundae (a knickerbocker glory is overkill in most places but I have been known to give it a go). I'm not really that impressed by a creme brulee - must be I've just got cheap tastes. To my taste, eating ice cream after fish and chips seems strange. So I am a strange person. |

Newton was probably eating gruel when he holed up in the country side to do his work. If you want a Nobel Prize give it a try: https://vintagerecipesandcookery.com...-for-the-sick/ Hi, it's me again. You weren't being serious with this post were you? I beginning to worry I'm treading on people toes without even realising it - sorry if I got it all wrong with my last reply. I assume you're talking about Isaac Newton, you must be, but I'm not sure he 'holed up in the country side to do his work' much. Didn't he do most of it in Cambridge Uni and then later in London? Also, he was around some 200 odd years earlier than the time the Nobel Prize awards started up. And is gruel really 'brain-food'? Salmon and broccoli maybe (although it's not doing overmuch for me, and as for sick-food, when I'm unwell I always find Heinz Cream of Tomato Soup a comfort). Maybe you're right, though, maybe gruel is 'brain-food'. Even so, not sure I want to give it try right now - think I'd prefer to put the Nobel Prize on hold for a while. |

People more susceptible to the virus will need to stay indoors under extraordinary isolation until summer 2021 when the vaccine is ready.
The CDC is already talking about healthier people [read: cyclists] going back to work. Bret Cahill |
