The driver obviously thought he was driving OK because he did not encroach into the cycle lane.
These cycle 'facilities' should be painted red to show the part of the carriageway cyclists should avoid.

Why not just allow everyone to use the full width of the road?

After all, they're obviously no use to cyclists.

Agreed, cyclists should use the full width of the road rather than cowering in the gutter.
Thanks for your support.

Happy to provide it again. I have never supported the roping-off of any
part of the carriageway for any purpose other than carrying all classes
of vehicle. All of it should be available to everyone. Just like it used
to be.

So you think cyclists should be able to use motorways?

"Just like it used to be".

There's a big clue in the words used.

Cyclists have always been as free to use motorways an anyone else. All
they need is a car / lorry / van / coach / motorbike, etc.

Motorists are free to use cycle ways so long as they pedal their vehicles.

Here is an example of a vehicle that appears to be a motor vehicle but is obviously pedal powered.

If the vehicle was, in fact, a motor vehicle then the driver was breaking the law and that never happens.

How do you feel about the fact that motor taxes only pay for 60% of the motorway maintenance budget?
The rest has to come from general taxation and even Autoholics Anonymous admit cyclists are more likely to be high rate tax payers.

Did you mean to ask how I feel about the fact that it is a blatant lie?

The rest has to come from general taxation and even Autoholics Anonymous admit cyclists are more likely to be high rate tax payers.

The old ones are sp frequently the best, aren't they?

Just for the record, I anm not jealous of anyone who is Considerably
Richer Than Me, irrespective of their transport oddities.
