Default Crawley Crit

This Sunday 15th May sees proper cycle racing on a closed circuit
round Crawley town centre. First race is at 17:00. Elite 1,2 race at
19:40.

I went to watch last year and it's absolutely riveting.

I'll be there this year too.

MartinM and me caught the last half hour of the elites on our way back from
the Hop Garden 200k. Pretty fast, weren't they? Still, as Martin pointed
out, I'd like to see them tackle a 400km Audax!

Fast? 30 mph average according to the commentator.

Where were you standing? I was near Evans most of the time (with my
Pedersen), and some time on the inside of the bend opposite the post
office. They cornered _really_ close, heads almost coming over the
barricades.

Exciting stuff.

We stood outside a pub on the high street for a while, where Martin
introduced me to Harveys IPA. Then went over to the finish straight for the
last thgee laps. Much faster there -- plenty of room at the barricades so
got good views.
