Default Greenwich foot tunnel

On a walk around Docklands last weekend, I noticed that there are signs
posted outside the tunnel saying "no cycling". Is this observed in
practice?

=================================

To be clear, the signs indicated that cycling was not allowed in the tunnel.
It's a pedestrian-only tunnel.

It is now. Barriers have been erected to deter the dangerous practice
of cycling.

Anyway, all someone has to do is fart inside the tunnel and it gets
closed.

I bet a motorist was the culprit.

However, this report suggests a paramedic ignored the 'no cycling'
restrictions.

Quite right. Bicyclists are a silent menace.

I'd guess more than a fart, the don't send the HART team out unless they
have to.

I bet a motorist was the culprit.

Imagine the stench if sweaty cyclists were allowed in.

However, this report suggests a paramedic ignored the 'no cycling'
restrictions.

A bit like ambulances being allowed to legally jump lights.

Last time I walked along it (without bicycle) I noticed there is cctv all
along it and any hint of taking the feet off the ground appears to set off
klaxons and cause bulkheads to drop.

They do have the facility to remotely close off the lifts to cyclists
in the event of an errant ride between barriers.

Personally, I feel that making a cyclist carry their bike up a 100
step spiral staircase is a reasonable and proportionate punishment for
the crime of cycling through the tunnel, albeit summary justice.

At last you are thinking straight. My work here is obviously achieving
something.

It is certainly not a sufficient penalty for selfishly and wilfully causing
danger and distress to vulnerable people unable to avoid the threat because
trapped in a confined space.

Make the cyclists dig their own tunnel.
