Is alive and well in URCM.

Let's hope he pops in here to do some troll -busting (in his own time of
course)

Mr Mason is simply a wonderful, truthful, pleasant and completely
reasonable human being, and I won't have a word said against him.

(Eurgh...thank god I don't have to defile my keyboard by saying things
like that with a straight face anymore!)

A post of mine in reply has been left languishing on the delay-list:

Last May I sent plod a clip of a driver heading straight at me as he
passed a no entry sign. I heard nothing until I got back from holiday
when I found two officers in my driveway with my micro SD chip in
their media player which they had used to show the driver the clip.

They had an apology for me from the driver and decided to give him a
caution after "letting him stew" for a few weeks in their words. So
that was a good result in my book.

Only yesterday I came across these two idiots who drove at me down a
one way street after scattering dogs and walkers by bombing along a
cycle path.

The last time I sent such footage to plod a year ago it resulted in
three illegal bikes getting crushed so it is worthwhile sending in
such footage to the cops in my experience anyway.

I think you're despicable...

No, really well done. A written apology from a driver who has
contravened a point no entry, and a police caution, is a proportionate
and reasonable response. If the driver commits no further driving
offences (unlikely) then it will be a great result.

It's great to hear from you again, how was your European tour?

I wonder if it is being delayed because I wrote the first line in a
"judith style".

Didn't he say he would "never let a troll have the last word"?

Dave - Cyclists VOR. "Many people barely recognise the bicycle as a
legitimate mode of transport; it is either a toy for children or a
vehicle fit only for the poor and/or strange," Dave Horton, of Lancaster
University, wrote in an interim assessment of the Understanding Walking
and Cycling study. "For them, cycling is a bit embarrassing, they fail
to see its purpose, and have no interest in integrating it into their
lives, certainly on a regular basis."

I sent this reply to the moderated group.

Indeed & here is yet another video of a road user going the wrong way down a one way street.

But for some reason this is their reply

"This is just asking for trouble IMO. I cannot see anywhere for this to go other than a series of increasingly intemperate replies."

I wonder why?

It would appear that the censors of that group think it is ok to post a link
to a video of drivers falling foul of the law but unacceptable to post a
link to a video of a cyclist breaking the law.

I'd add it to the list of complaints in uk.net.news.moderation.

You make a good point about the written apology.

We should not be prepared to accept anything less than a written apology (to
society at large in some cases) from the operator of *any* vehicle which
he/she steers, illegally, between two red "No Entry" signs.

I'm certain that you will agree.

Yes, but I fear that he may have reasoned himself into a logical
impasse. And there is only one way out of that. A shrug, and a "****
this for a game of soldiers!"
