Default Pavement cyclist on quiet side street hospitalises OAP and clears off

A pensioner needed surgery in hospital after being hit by a pavement
cyclist on a quiet residential estate.

Cleveland Police say the victim was struck by a pedal bike at around
9.30am on Saturday in Marton.

The 79-year-old man was walking on Captain Cook’s Crescent when he was
knocked to the ground by a bicycle being ridden on the pavement.

A Cleveland Police spokeswoman said: "The gentleman was taken by
ambulance to James Cook University Hospital where he had an operation to
his dislocated and fractured shoulder and received treatment for cuts
and bruises to his right hand.
