A helmet would help.

Why did the Police at the scene not detain the cyclist?

here's what you need:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Practice-Makes-Perfect-English-Second/dp/0071849629/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=Basic+english&qid=1562852203&s =gateway&sr=8-1

I am not clicking on that link.

You didn't need to. Even with English being something you struggle with,
the title of the book ("Basic English") was clear enough within the URL.

Zzzzzzzzzzzzz.

No: "Basic English".

You've got it even worse than it seemed.

"The police told us she did nothing wrong, the light went green for her to cross."
If the Police were not on scene how do they know this?

Have you asked them?

Have you?

Why would I? I'm not the one who thinks the police are lying about the
malicious actions of the cyclist.

Where did I say the Police were lying? Please cite the actual text.

If you received a NIP through the post accusing you of jumping a red light would you expect the Police to provide actual evidence?

You quoted this:

"...The police told us she did nothing wrong, the light went green for
her to cross..."

Then you asked:

"If the Police were not on scene how do they know this?"

You can only ask such a question if you think that the police were lying
when they "...told us she did nothing wrong [and that] the light went
green for her to cross...".

If you received a NIP through the post accusing you of jumping a red light would you expect the Police to provide actual evidence?

I would expect so. But it isn't something of which I have ever had
experience.

Thank you proving I did not say the police were lying. All I asked was how they knew the pedestrian light was green.
I look forward to reading your apology.

The policeman was one of Noddy's cousins. If a cyclist is involved the
cyclist is always wrong. The pedestrian light must have been green.

I have nothing to apologise to the police for. It was not I who accused
them of lying. That was you.

*If* that is what it means in chav-speak, it was a particularly
mystifying response to the sentence "I would expect so. But it isn't
something of which I have ever had experience".

Still... look who "wrote" it.
