Jeanson and Bessette

Found this in a post from 2001:

I'll give you the quick and dirty. When it comes down to it
there
are two clans in Quebec women's racing. Le Clan Bessette et le Clan
Jeanson. They weren't exactly too friendly to begin with. Then during
the Olympics with less then 10km's to go Lyne 'attacks' (well she
pushed
the pace a little) and Jeanson jumped her wheel. Which was of course a
mistake given that they are supposed to be racing for the same team
(but
then again Bessette had her radio tuned to the National Coach and
Genvieve had hers tuned to her own coach). After the race.. ooh la la
la, qu'elle melodrame! Bessette went and held TWO press conferences and

you could see the **** and vinegar squirting out her eyes. She was one
ticked woman. Truth be told Jeanson goofed bigtime and probably wanted
to win at all costs (even if it meant blowing Bessette out of
contention). BUT, Bessette's 'attack' wasn't that much of an attack and

even if Jeanson had counter attacked I don't think much would have come

about.. Much ado about nothing. Bessette said she would never talk to
Jeanson again. I think she even took her toys and went home for good.

The last stage of Tour de Toona was, well, interesting if you assume
these two are enemies.

I never saw them exchange a word, either.

Abut still sends her signals by mental telepathy. Jeanson did admit one
time, that when she races, she looks into the landscape and all she sees is
Abut's face. That tree, that mountain, that house, Abut, Abut, Abut.
