Cyclist needed hospital treatment after being knocked off bike inCardiff hit-and-run

Police are appealing for information after a cyclist was knocked off her bike by a hit-and-run motorcyclist on Cardiff's Western Avenue.

The woman was on the pedestrian crossing near Llandaff RFC at 11.05am on Saturday, July 18, when she was hit by a motorcycle that had passed stationary traffic.

She was knocked from her bike and suffered several broken bones and needed hospital treatment for her injuries.

The motorcyclist, who was wearing a black motorcycling jacket with grey detailing, failed to stop at the scene.

A spokeswoman for South Wales Police said: "Prior to the collision, the motorbike was captured on CCTV travelling eastbound along Western Avenue, through the junction with Cardiff Road.

"Following the collision it went up the off-slip for Gabalfa Interchange before turning left in to the Mynachdy estate."

Officers are appealing to the motorcyclist to come forward.

They’re also keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the crash, or who may have dash-cam or mobile phone footage which could help with the investigation.
