Default Driver caged for 8 months after overtaking cock up

QUOTE:
"A driver has been jailed after crashing into a bicycle rider who was riding three abreast with two other cyclists. Jamie Endersby tried to overtake the group of riders on a bend at Marston Hill.

But he swerved back when a car came in the opposite direction, Luton Crown Court heard. His 4x4 clipped a bike ridden by Russell McCraith, sending him crashing to the ground. He then carried on driving

He pleaded guilty to causing serious injury by dangerous driving and failing to stop.

The court heard he had five convictions for nine offences and four years ago had received a suspended sentence for dangerous driving."

Three abreast is illegal. Why wasn't the cyclist charged - it was
clearly his fault.

2) Mr McCraith suffered seven broken ribs, damage to his right lung and a
broken collar bone. He needed 20 stitches to a deep cut on his forehead and
suffered some brain bleeding.

3) Highway Code Rule 66

You should

never ride more than two abreast, and ride in single file on narrow or busy
roads and when riding round bends

(Excellent post of yours - keep them coming)

So that bit about "You should give a cyclist as much room as you would a
car" (with a pretty picture added) isn't law either, then?

Thanks for confirming that.

When did I ever deny it?

You psychopaths are the one with the 'variable geometry' morality.

Just expect the D-Lock Response if you don't leave sufficient room.
