For Nat. Bike Week. I'll be leading a ride of inexperienced adults, some
of which will involve town roads. Not sure how many but handful to a
dozen is my guess.

I was just wondering if there is a 'points for ride leaders' resource.

I have been out with a few friends before but we were all in it together
sort of thing with me to navigate them between the pubs, but never had
the actual responsibility of shepherding.

As is my way, if the answer is no then if the good folks of u.r.c. wish
to put forward some essentials and tips then I'll write them up prettily
as per the Essential Cycling points in the sig.

Not that I've seen. Some thoughts:

a) You need a few leaders. One front, one rear minimum. Another one to float
around in case of traffic lights, people who cut it short etc is very, very
useful. Leaders should all wear something so they can be recognised (e.g. same
club top)

b) Warn people in advance what you policy for traffic lights is (ie if the front
of the group has gone through and it goes to amber, do the rest go through or wait)

c) Make sure people know where you are going, when the stops are etc.

Why not contact your local CTC? It is a core activity for CTC DAs after
all.
