Default Interchangability of steerer/stanchions and lowers for marzocchi forks

Hello,

I have a 1997 Bontrager Race which I am building up. Currently I have
installed a 1999 Marzocchi Z.2 Atom Bomb. The fork is a good fit for this
frame as it only has 70mm of travel and thus a short 430mm crown-to-axle
height -- does not mess up the frames geometry as a longer travel, taller
fork would do.

To get the fork to fit my Bontrager I had to purchase a Marzhocchi
"pinch-bolt" crown which allows the use of a 1" steerer tube. While this
crown is perfectly functional, I see that Marzocchi has available 1"
'cyrofit' crown, which are lighter and much cleaner looking without all the
pinch bolts.

My question is would I be able to use the crown/stanchions from, say, a 2004
Marzocchi MX Comp with the lower from my 1999 Z.2 Atom Bombs?

Thanks,

Dominic
