Storing Tubulars long term

A friend who is an engineer (but not a bike rider) says to store them in a thick black bag in a cool place and he suggested that without UV light that they would not deteriorate. He suggested that "no air" in the bag would be best but I'm not sure that's so practical in the home. Opinions and experience ? Thanks Dear Bob, The second-best way to store bicycle tires is to keep them in a cold, dark place, sealed in a plastic bag. This slows the inevitable deterioration of the rubber. The best way to store rubber tires is to buy a pair and mount them on a bicycle that you ride. They're not actually intended to be hoarded in refrigerators. Carl Fogel |
