Pantini didn't rat out anyone...
When the heat was just around the corner, Marco took himself out as that
was the honorable way. The dishonorable way would be to blubber on Oprah. |

I can't argue with that other than the fact that Lance had already retired from Tour competition. The bureaucracies went out of their way to retroactively attack him. One must wonder the real motive. I say it was a feint, a cover-up of the bureaucracy's demonstrable failure to do the job they were assigned to do. Who really cares about Lance doing some triathlons. No way he'd even be competitive. Lance is done - stick a fork in him. Why did the bureaucracies find it necessary to ban him for life from everything? -- Sir Gregory |

A massive overdose of cocaine (among other varied substances) took him out, whether this actually qualifies as 'taking himself out' is bit of a moot point. Still it probably is a more exotic end than the one LA faces, particularly as he's apparently admitted to OW that he's the one who murdered Bambi. |
