Driver jailed for putting child cyclists at risk

"A BANNED driver put young children in danger as he sped off through a busy residential area after police spotted him behind the wheel of a car. Jordan Rothera, 21, was jailed for seven months after a court heard he drove dangerously through busy areas in the Seacroft area of Leeds, on April 16 this year. Leeds Crown Court heard Rothera was spotted by police officer driving along North Parkway at 4.20pm. One of the officers was aware he was subject to a driving ban at the time of the incident. Rothera refused to stop and instead drove the wrong way around a mini roundabout on Brooklands Avenue before breaking the speed limit on Southway Lane.
