Default Consecutive Grand Tour wins

Contador is up to 4 now. He has won every Grand Tour he has
entered since the Tour two years ago.

If he defends his win in the Vuelta he will equal Indurain's
mark of 5. (1991 Tour, 1992 Giro, 1992 Tour, 1993 Giro, 1993
Tour, 3rd place in the 1994 Giro)

I believe the record is 7, which ended with this year's Giro.

Did they stop the Tour already? I was planning on watching at least
one more of the three remaining stages.

If you don't count Hinault's 80 TDF DNF to injury when he was in
yellow he's at 9 from the 78 Vuelta to the 83 Vuelta

If you don't count shootings, faked diseases, races he didn't enter,
and alien abductions, I think LemonD is up to 37 virtual consecutive
GT wins.

What about Eddy Merckx? 1969 Tour, 1970 Giro & Tour, 1971 Tour, 1972 Giro &
Tour, 1973 Vuelta & Tour, 1974 Giro & Tour. That makes ten.

You are correct, I was talking out of my ass.

Taking 2nd in the 1975 Tour broke the string. If the Italians
had not bounced him for dope in 1969 it'd have been 11.
