ahead headset bearings
Hi
Just had to take up a little play on the headtube of my trek hybrid. It doesn't have bearings but an unfamiliar bush type arrangement, do these need greasing periodically or replacing or are they service free? thanks Gary -- Visit my websites at www.justjents.co.uk www.recumbent.50megs.com |

If you have cartridge bearings, these are intended to be maintenance free and eventually replaced, but, depending on the model, you may be able to remove the seal and add more grease. There's a danger of making it worse though. Examples: http://images.google.co.uk/images?sv...idge+bear ing Adjustment instructions: http://www.parktool.com/repair/readhowto.asp?id=65 ~PB |
