Default Motorist to face trial over the death of London cyclist after crowdfunding website raises £60,000 for legal fees

Mr Mason, 70, from Kentish Town, suffered “severe traumatic brain
injury” after being hit from behind in Regent Street in February 2014.
The judge refused jurisdiction, saying the case was so serious that it
had to be tried at crown court.

Obviously, the matter will be dealt with at the appropriate Crown Court
(by a jury), but I wonder why it was that the Met Police declined to
refer the matter for prosecution? The defence would be very silly not to
investigate that decision and get at the reason(s) for it.

...or it could be that the photo you are looking at was taken many years
before the fatal accident occurred (maybe should have let you carry on
thinking how good all that cycling was).

Bizarre that there was not a more recent photo available.

It will have been too fuzzy.

There's never a suitable clear facial shot of anyone whose premature
death is reported in the press.
