"Tom Kunich" cyclintom@yahoo. com wrote in message m... "Robert" wrote in message ... There is no connection between the freedom to post here and being gay. The problems start when people decide they want to play grab ass, tit for tat, and engage in all kinds of personal attacks. The free in freedom should be that anyone can post anything related to cycling and have a reasonably civil discussion. Hey, if some queer is playing grabass with you it is unlikely that management will do anything because of threats from gay rights groups. But if you grab a woman's ass you are likely to lose your job and perhaps end up behind bars. That's the sort of "equality" that queers want. I am sure you have read plenty on the gay rights agendas. I have read a fair bit on this, to see where it might be heading. What is most grevious is its long term effect on society. Even a gay liberal democrat has written a short piece on this as noted earlier. http://www.freerepublic.com:80/focus.../2022069/posts Here is a number of Chung charts on gay questions in society. The majority of people still oppose gay rights in the charts, but they are outdated by one election cycle. http://www.publicagenda.com/citizen/...eople-concerns Robert PS-Prop 8 passed in California! |

"Kyle Legate" wrote in message ... Robert wrote: Show me a Chung chart on what race white men prefer the most as partners. However, that's a different issue altogether. Prop 8 strikes a theme critical to the very core of society. At least mixed interracial marriages were still between a man and women. How is society hurt by a couple of dudes loving each other? I have seen the damage this lifestyle does firsthand. I had an old high school buddy who also worked where I worked. He was a Billy Jack kind of dude, pretty tough guy. He had a girlfriend, and she was awesome, good company. She cooked and cleaned, and was a great companion for him. For some reason, he started playing around with this lifestyle. He moved her out and started inviting queers over. I split, told him later days. I saw the guy about a year later, and he was all screwed up. He said he had to go to a shrink for a long time, and told me how sad he was he moved his old girlfriend out. He knew he lost a good partner in her. He's still screwed up today, although he is trying to move on. He is still haunted and ashamed about what he did. I know also another friend from high school who's sister was married to a guy who also moved her out and moved in a bunch of queers. They had two little girls, so she had to get them the hell out of there quick! This dude also lost his cookies, lost his job and another guy bites the dust. This lifestyle is destructive, I have seen it firsthand. It's not pretty, but very sad in many cases. I don't support it, and I'll vote against it every time. When I worked in Fresno, queers were all over the place. I was getting hounded by them on a regular basis on the job. I moved the hell out of there, and never looked back. I like the Highland because there are very few gays up there. There might be a few, but they are few and far between up here in the highland. Mostly retired folks live here, and they make excellent neighbors. Besides that, gangland activity is non-existent, as where in the city, its rampant. Here, you can walk the streets uptown no problem at all, even late at night. 50 miles away in the city, you don't dare do that at night! The gangs cruise all night long. My friends son was rolled by a gangbanger right in front of Safeway at night. Those two groups, I can do without, gays and gangbangers. I don't go to the city late at night, unless I'm packin. Prop 8 passed in California, BTW. Robert |

I don't know who the hell you are, but you're not him. All you do is set flame bait traps. I'm not biting on those traps, as crafty as you make them. BTW, Prop 8 passed! Robert |

That's deep. I was hoping for better, but what I believe is pretty straight forward. I don't like to complicate my life by being forced to accept every agenda that rides the political winds. The less clutter in life the better. What it really comes down to for me is space. Lets face it, that's why rich people live in gated communities with lots of space. If the neighbors are gay, at least there is plenty of space between us, which is what most of us want, space, regardless, space is the most important thing for me. Space and solitude, far removed from the obnoxious sounds of planes, trains and cars. Its everyone's dream, to have space, peace and quite. If you have that, its easier to tolerate all the problems that divide us as a nation. Prop 8 passed. Robert |

SLAVE of THE STATE wrote:
"There is a debate over the effectiveness and usefulness of caucuses in Iowa [or anywhere, for that matter]. One criticism is that the caucuses, especially the Democratic caucus, are a step backwards from the right to a secret ballot.[citation needed] Democratic caucus participants (though not Republicans, whose caucuses vote by secret ballot) must publicly state their opinion and vote, leading to natural problems such as peer pressure from fellow neighbors and embarrassment over who his/her real pick might be. Another criticism involves the sheer amount of participants' time these events consume. An Iowa caucus can last up around two hours, preventing people who must work, who are sick, or must take care of their children from casting their vote. Absentee voting is also barred, so soldiers who come from Iowa, but must serve in the military, lose their vote. The final criticism is the complexity of the rules in terms of how one's vote counts, as it is not a simple popular vote. Arguments in favor of caucuses include the belief that they favor more motivated participants than simple ballots, and that supporters of non- viable candidates are able to realign with a more popular candidate and still make their vote "count". Each precinct's vote may be weighed differently due to its past voting record. Ties can be solved by picking a name out of a hat or a simple coin toss, leading to anger over the true democratic nature of these caucuses.[17] Additionally, the representation of the caucus has had a traditionally low turnout.[18] Others question the permanent feature of having caucuses in certain states, while perpetually ignoring the rest of the country.[19]" I think you've actually understated the problems with caucuses. While I've never participated in a Democratic caucus, a friend once went and railed at me about it for a couple weeks afterward. It's all about allowing the party to control the situation and keeping the power out of the people's hands. Who owes whom a favor and who's greased who's palm. On the other hand, we are a republic. That electoral college system was designed to keep power away from the great unwashed masses too. |
