Default Bike Storage Hooks Q by newbie

I bought a couple Crawford Superhooks for MTbike storage in my garage.

http://www.lehighgroup.com/crawford_...hooks.htm#SH18

This picture shows hanging the bike by the front tire only with one hook.

This would be more convienient than using 2 and storing the bike parallel to
the floor (upside down).

Will storing by 1 hook put undue pressure on the front wheel?

Thanks for answering!

If your wheel is _that_ weak, then you have bigger problems than storing it.

Steve hangs his kid's bike by the front wheel, but it's always the rear that
needs work...

Although someone's already beat me to the "your wheels will go out of
round" gag... there IS a down side. Some shock forks don't take well
to being upside down or even vertical, and leak. If yours doesn't,
then it's a great way to store the bike.

Not like sarcasm to go over your head, Stephen. Pre-coffee error?

By storage, I was assuming it was a length of time. I don't care how strong
your wheel may be, if you hang it by the rim for more than a week there will
be damage.

I have two racks that extend from the floor to ceiling. Each has hangers
for two bikes, but I can get a third on as well. There is actually a dual
benefit here. They hold the bike horizontally and the brackets can be
angled so that you can use it as a maintenance rack.

They are about $100 with two brackets. You can get them at Organized
Living.

The other option (but expensive) is GarageTek (www.garagetek.com).

If you have to ask why , then it's already too late.

Take a piece of concreate attached to a chain. Then attach the chain to
your leg. Next, jump off a bridge. Tell me what happens.

It's the laws of physics my friend.

If you can't answer the question, then you're just another clueless
