(Off Topic) Do people fly over the handlebars now?
"Pete Biggs" wrote in message ... No, if anything it's easier nowdays thanks to the higher mechanical advantage of modern brakes -- like dual-pivot calipers and v-brakes. Not so much hand strength is required to get strong braking. Alloy rims help as well. I've not managed to go over but came very close when I got my first front disc brake bike and decided to see how quickly I could stop on a slight downhill. It threw me off and the back end went right up but I didn't go over the handlebars. It's quite an achievement as well given my weight in kilos is in three figures! I've never managed to do it again since even with new pads and calipers. -- peter Cheap train tickets database http://www.petereverett.co.uk/tickets/ Email sent to this address is generally deleted upon arrival Visit website if you want to contact me |

No, not at all. It's still common. How could it have changed? The geometry of the bike is the same, and the brakes are now better, not worse. -- (Simon Brooke) http://www.jasmine.org.uk/~simon/ Tony Blair's epitaph, #1: Tony Blair lies here.
