From the article: "Goddard says that the best way to right this
dangerous situation is to separate cyclists and drivers."

Portland State is churning out lots of "research" with that theme.
Looks like there's a faculty member or two who have decided that
segregating bicyclists should be their life's mission. They're advising
student researchers on projects that can be used to justify that attitude.

PSU is churning out lots of idiots who wander into the protected cycle path qua death chute in front of PSU. The argument against bike chutes is located right in front of the campus.

The study used an on-line survey. Wow. Penetrating scholarship. Maybe there is more to it, but I didn't feel like signing up for the download.

There clearly is increased antagonism towards cyclists, IMO created by traffic volume and population pressure. Pretty simple -- a bunch of stressed rats.

And we know what the final effect is: "Bicycles are too dangerous for streets".
