Drivers who don't indicate are mine.

I've yet to see a cyclist sticking an arm out when turning a corner.

Maybe they also drive BMWs?

Many car drivers are also cyclists.

And?

I've always maintained that drivers who are also cyclists make the best
drivers. For a start, they see the roads from the perspective of
cyclists, so are therefore more careful.

Nothing to do with cycling.

Cyclists are nothing to do with cycling?

Who'da thortit?

Pro cyclists have no more to do with utility cyclists than F1 drivers have to do with utility drivers.
Using your 'logic' F1 cars should have to pass the UK MOT before they are allowed on the track.

Be clear: Are you REALLY claiming that cyclists have nothing to do with
cycling?

Think before you answer.

I am saying racing has nothing to do with transport.

That much is true but it wasn't the question and is not relevant to the OP.

In exactly the same way, F1, Speedway and all the rest of the
boredom-fest that is "motor-sport" also has nothing to do with transport.

All very well, but that doesn't mean that cycling is nothing to do with
cycling (which is the essence of your claim).

It might all be different if this NG's purpose were limited to utility
(transport) cycling. But it isn't and indeed, the NG name indicates the
opposite of that.

In The Beginning there was UK.TRANSPORT and UK.REC.CYCLING.
The Cyclists pointed out that UK.TRANSPORT only discussed motor vehicles, and it was so.
The Prophet Huge Davies thus created UK.REC.DRIVING, and all was peaceful.
Then came JNUGENT who claimed UK.RAILWAY was not an appropriate forum to discuss railways in the uk. So was the flame war born and destroyed usenet.

The people of Preston wouldn't be able to afford them if they weren't

I thought that was obvious. The is no uk.transport.cycling so we have to use this group.
But then you are the one who claimed uk.railway was not appropriate for a discussion about uk railways.
