Bottle Cage Clamps
"Bill the Cat" wrote: Although the whole rivnuts thing sounds pretty good, but I am mortally afraid of damaging my beloved frame (even if it did come with just the one bottle mount). They are pretty much standard fastenings instead of braze-ons now, for steel and alloy frames. I have two in the forks that support my low-rider front rack, carrying much more weight than a bidon. The frame has well and truly passed its use by date seeing as I bought it around 1982 (Tange Cro-mo road frame), but hey, I know when its time is up when it gives out... Nah! Steel doesn't have a 'use by date' - unless it's rusted. Aluminium on the other hand has yet to be really seen - only been commonly used for about 10-12 years. -- Cheers Peter ~~~ ~ _@ ~~ ~ _- \, ~~ (*)/ (*) |
