Default lance armstrong's gearing

I'm sure this topic has been discussed, but couldn't find it. People
are always going on about the low gearing that Armstrong uses. But does
anyone actually know what he would have been using, for instance on
yesterday's climb to Courchevel?

There's a post yesterday about Leg Speed, where Tom Kunich mentions a 23 as
the largest cog.

I'm 'gonna take a guess that he's on a 10 speed 11-23.

I gotta say that on OLN when Phil and Paul are obviously itching to
avoid any silence in the broadcast that it would be nice if they provide
da little insight into the gearing and techniques being used at
different phases of the race. "Blah, blah, he's really in the red zone
now" is not as interesting as having to turn over a 21 instead of a 23
because, well, I dont' know. I'd just like to hear about it, or at least
get the cameraman to show the drivetrain side of the bike once in a while.
