Default The wages of the roadie scum on RBT

Interesting remarks from Baleful Ronni in another thread:

I actually agree that most race bike purchases are silly.

I don't have a race bike, Ronni. When the lying scumbag Russell Seaton
deliberately started the current flamewar, I was about to order a road
bike just to try it out, but now I think I'll give it a miss for fear
of the bike causing me to be associated with the bullying scum I have
just exposed on RBT. One has to wonder how many others who might try a
road bike this roadie scum on RBT has put off over the years.

Andre, when you find yourself going off when someone agrees with you, it is time
to just ****ing stop.

Just for some on topic content for you, Road Bike does not equal Race Bike.

Now don't lose your rag yet, Ronni. I still need you to establish a
self-supporting thread here. Thanks for your help so far.

Just for some on topic content for you, Road Bike does not equal Race Bike.

Aah. Well, I got that possibly-mistaken idea here on RBT, where folks
say "road bike" when they mean a bike with drop handles capable of
being raced up to club level, if I understood it correctly. Clearly,
you don't think that's right. Odd that you should be the one out of
step, Ronni; you're usually reliable on mechanical things even if your
judgements of people more entertaining than exact.

I will take this opportunity to remind Mr. Jute that people such as Ed
Dolan, not to mention myself, ride recumbent bicycles and trikes, so he
need not consider such human powered vehicles.

I think you are intentionally depriving yourself of a great joy
Andre. Road bikes are fun to ride. Road more or less meaning race.
They are lighter and quicker handling than other bikes. Ride your
girls hybrid bike down to a local bike shop and test ride a race
bike. Take it for a long test ride. I think you'll be amazed at the
different feeling. Good feeling. And you can consider this
information to use in your posts against/for road bikes on the
internet. Educational opportunity.

I will take this opportunity to remind Mr. Jute that people such as Ed
Dolan,

Are you calling the Great Ed Dolan scum, Liddell Tommi? What's he done
to deserve such ignominy?

not to mention myself,

We know what you are, but it isn't necessarily scum either.

ride recumbent bicycles and trikes,

Is it the recumbent bike or the trike that is the crime, per se, or
daring to be different from the roadies?

so he
need not consider such human powered vehicles.

I feel for your pain, bro'. I've seen the roadies thug on the poor
recumbent riders.

But I'm comfortable marching to a different drummer, so I've
considered recumbents already. I live in "the Rome of the Islands",
and the hill in front of my house is short but brutal, so a 'bent
would have to be a really good climber even with a Rohloff box. I was
a day away from ordering a 'bent when the dealer (a flatlander) said
he spoke to someone who lived among hills and they decided I should
stick to an upright bike.

In fact, it was you who put me on to the 'bent I nearly bought,
Liddell Tommi, not directly perhaps but because it was also described
at a dealer for a 'bent you recommended.

Not as long as you're a roadie, Seaton. I don't associate with boors,
bullies and assorted scum. Your slime might rub off on me.

Ignoring the obvious observation about who is being boorish etc, you love
associating with people you call scum. We make your life richer - why else
would you carry on providing so much for us to poke fun at?

So, to summarize, you believe that this flame war is about lies the
scumbag Russell Seaton told about my bike? I don't think it's about
that, Ronni. It is probably about some non-specific remarks I made
over a period of time about bike ergonomics that the scummier end of
the roadie spectrum of conformity took personally. You can see at the
beginning of the bovver that Seaton decided in advance to have it out
with me, and that was that, regardless of anything I decided to do.
The mickey mouse scumbags Clive George and Hank Wirtz as much as
admitted it.

As for the rest of your remarks, dear Ronni, it is clear to me that
you are a stupendously slow learner. Why, you've had the privilege of
observing me in bovvers for a good decade and a half now, and you're
none the wiser. Did it ever occur to you to ask why I didn't wipe you
with some other scum that you've hung with over the years? No, of
course not; you have all the self-awareness of a cat. I'll tell you:
you're my slave who rides in the carriage with me and whispers in my
ear not to become too arrogant.

You know me, Ronni, I never start flame wars, though admittedly I've
ended a few. One can't make an omelette without breaking eggs.

Only an insenstive idiot like you, Balesy, could mistake the further
provocation from the scumbag Seaton as "an olive branch". The scumbag
Russell Seaton is a bully, backed up by his gang, standing on his
street corner, taunting me with childish crap like "your girls hybrid
bike". He thinks he's getting away with it.

Of course he's getting away with it.

He's going to keep getting away with it, too. There's nothing you can do to stop
it except grow the **** up, get over it and Get. Over. Your. Self. I explained
this before but you weren't paying attention.

Oooh, he called your "world circumnavigator" a "girlie bike." Oooh, that mean,
mean man. He's impertinent, a criminal and scum, even. He "lied" about your
bike. Oh, but you'll make him pay. Just like those other guys, and why won't
those damn kids stay off the lawn. You'll show them. You'll teach them to mock
your bicycle. Oh, yes indeed. What are you gonna do, stomp off and pee real
hard.

Did you see the movie Burn After Reading? Great line; Brad Pitt playing a gym
rat dumbass, "Heh, that guy's so stupid he thinks my bike's a Schwinn."

Oh, okay, I'll explain it to you. See, the real joke is that Pitt's character is
the moron for thinking it makes a ****ing difference what someone thinks of his
bike.

Yes, Jute, it's true. You are dumber than the Brad Pitt character in a Coen
brothers comedy. Just not as funny. Well, actually sorta funnier for the
interactive feature. Sorta like poking sticks at a caged badger 'cause it makes
such an amusing frenzy off impotent thrashing and squawking.
