But motorists always are taught that pedestrians always have priority.
So this must be a genuine accident, unlike the crazed lycra-clad cyclo-
killer of Richmond.

Steve Firth:-"It is also clear in the video that Mr Izquierdo is
intending to step out into the road. Who has priority in these
circumstances, the pedestrian
or the cyclist? It is the pedestrian isn't it? Again a simple yes or
no
will suffice, but you may care to recall that motorists are taught -
when do pedestrians have priority? Always."

Now then Porky

Is he on your page of "famous people I have met"?

How's the court case coming along?

A verdict anytime soon?

Porky Chapman bragged about the fact that he was taking someone he
had accused of harassing him through the court system.
All of a sudden his court case is off. Was it because Porky was scared of
being cross-examined and having to answer questions under oath?
Or did the CPS sling the case out because of Porky's "evidence"?
Why won't he tell us?

"Witnesses said a blue BMW overtook a navy Mercedes Jeep once the lights had
changed on Convamore Road. They saw two women crossing the road together and
had nearly reached the opposite side when the BMW appeared. One woman jumped
out of the way, but the other was hit by the vehicle, and died later in
hospital. She is understood to be aged in her 40s.

Police attended the scene soon after and cordoned off the road to carry out
investigations. A man, believed to be aged in his 30s, was arrested at the
scene. Dan Hewson, the driver of the Mercedes Jeep, told how he saw the woman
being thrown up into the air before landing back on the road."

Despicably reckless driving. Should be banned for life.

Agreed.

Sounds similar to a case I once witnessed, where I and another car were
waiting side by side on a dual-two-lane carriageway at a red light, he on my
left.

A car approaching from behind saw the lights go to amber and decided to
overtake me (I hadn't started to move) via the simple expedient of using the
right-turn lane cut into the central reservation and pulling left in front of
me. He was going fast enough to accomplish that quite easily, but I and the
other stationary driver hadn't moved because a female pedestrian was crossing
in front of us. She got past th front of my car, moving from my left to my
right, just as the third car reached me...

I assume he pleaded guilty. I never did get a witness summons.

It reminds me of a car that hit me on a zebra crossing a few years
ago. I noticed a car well away from the zebra, but heading my way so I
started to cross the road. The driver did not want to give way to me
even though by now I was half way across. At 3/4 of the way across, it
was clear that he was not going to yield and neither was I.

He had slowed to walking pace by now and I fell to my left onto his
bonnet rather than have my femur struck by the bumper. After a few
choice words about what the f*** was he playing at, he drove off. Pity
I did not have my video glasses in those days - there was a cop shop
just a few doors away.

Haha. Any time, any place it can be seen that for some, teaching and
learning are not necessarily the same thing.

Dave, I keep telling you that it's possible to be both a cyclist and normal.
I cycle occasionally (normally when the weather is good) and I consider
myself to be normal. Most cyclists are normal people like you and I but
there is a sizable minority who are militant and obsessed with a metal frame
and two wheels who are most definitely not normal.
