OLN: The Only Lance Network - got barbed last night on the DailyShow
Last night, Jon Stewart made a crack about the obscurity of OLN in the
cable hinterlands last night while reporting on an appearance of Bush on one of OLN's fishing shows. Two things bothered me: 1: Why were OLN and comcast giving Bush an opportunity to use their station as a free campaign tool? 2: Bush had on sunglasses and a cap with the NIKE logo on prominant display. When did Nike start to sponsor the executive branch? |

The Only Lance Network - got barbed last night on the Daily Show
Was he talking about campaign issues while fishing or was he just fishing?
I doubt fishing would be considered campaigning. "Robert McMillen" wrote in message ... Lots of positive exposure for Bush being a regulat kind of guy. and the show closed with an endorsement by the host of Bush presidency. But the president's Nike endorsement was more disturbing to me. |

When did Nike start to sponsor the executive branch? How much would it of bothered you if it were Kerry fishing and wearing a Nike hat? In my opinion I would think that OLN being a smaller network would welcome either Bush or Kerry to help OLN's exposure... -p |

When did Nike start to sponsor the executive branch? I believe that the host + Bush go back a few years. Also, a lot of these shows are time buys. OLN has a slot open. You make a show, line up sponsers that pay you money. You pay some of that to OLN, OLN shows the show, you keep the difference as profit. Have no clue about the hat. |
