Maybe somebody was coming downhill too fast.

If you have evidence that the driver was speeding then you need
to let the police know.

The incline in the photo I showed must be tempting for a downhill
cyclist. The driver most probably has his share of blame too.

So you have no evidence that the driver was exceeding the speed
limit for that road? Thanks for clearing that up.

Guess that leaves the cyclist. Do you suspect he was exceeding the
speed limit?

Speed limits do not apply to cyclists on that road.

Sez the cyclist who boasted about blasting past a school on his silly
bicycle.

Whilst being overtaken by parents, teachers and bus drivers.

Really? I doubt that.

Do you imagine that any of them drove at less than the 20mph speed limit?

20mph is quite fast for a bike on the flat - I think my fastest was 25 mph and I was still passed by cars, even at that speed.

That was past the school - I did top out at 34mph on the way to work with a backwind on the flat.

Maybe going too fast cost the cyclist dearly. The poor chap is 6 foot
under and the manner of his passing sound horrible.

He's not talking much about rights of way and speed limits. You should
remember that, unless maybe you still think you can come back from the dead.
