Default McLaren entering pro bicycle racing

In case you don't know why McLaren is a big deal, I found this article on the Formula One page (https://www.bbc.com/sport/formula1 ):

A technologically advanced bicycle surely follows. It's guaranteed to be extremely competent, fast and expensive.

Reminds me of when Lotus developed, designed and built a pursuit bike for Chris Boardman, which he used to overtake a top level competitor in what must have been the least elapsed time and space ever, one of the most thrilling moments from the Olympics (in fact the only one I have remembered for so long).

Hurrah for McLaren!

I noticed this in the news I read this morning. The officials will have
their x-ray machines at the ready I imagine.

I wonder how this affects their cross-branding with Specialized. https://newatlas.com/specialized-s-w...-tarmac/32790/ Bahrain Merida, of course, rides Meridas. http://teambahrainmerida.com/bikes/

Not all the sport of sports happens between athletes. If you're interested in blood on the carpet, the battle between good and evil -- sorry! -- I mean between the team lawyers and the blazers can be as thrilling.

You may want to consider
a) that McLaren largely belongs to the investment fund of the ruler of an Arab State, and
b) that Zac Brown, the chief executive of McLaren, is a longtime wheeler-dealer and that he was promoted to the top job from the chair of the commercial director, basically the guy who finds and strokes sponsors, i.e. he is not a jumped-up mechanic, and
c) that Formula One is a rat****ery second only to advertising, and then only by a rat's whisker, and
d) that Mr Brown, by all accounts a charming man, is the second biggest rat in F1 (the paradigm of all rat****ers being forcibly retired after a sex-scandal), and
e) that who owns Merida has suddenly become a factor in its survival

There are further factors that make this a development to watch, but that'll give you the idea. Not so incidentally at all, my protege Dakota Franklin has written a set of thrillers centred on a British racing house:

Andre Jute
Watch out, Merida, you're riding on slippery road
