Disc Pad Wear: Flat or Wedge-Shape Normal?
On a set of worn-out disc brake pads, is it normal for the
leading edge to be about a half mmm thicker than the trailing edge? Or should the wear be even across the pad? Just replaced a set and the new pads *look* like they are parallel to the rotor, but the worn-out pads were noticeably wedge-shaped. viz: http://tinyurl.com/3rm7tu8 Normal? Or do I need to re-visit the caliper adjustment on the new pads? -- PeteCresswell |

No big deal and the are dirt cheap, easy to exchange often without tools or maybe just a pliers to grab the pad base. -- Andrew Muzi www.yellowjersey.org/ Open every day since 1 April, 1971 |

This is the second set of pads I've replaced where squeaking went away with new pads. Eventually it's going to soak in that when the pads start squeaking, maybe it's because they need replacing.... The Question: Is squeaking when the pads are worn just an accident or is it designed in to the pads? -- PeteCresswell |
