You haven't been spending enough time on your bike lately, have you?
Grizzly Peak in two weeks, Sequoia Century just down the road in June!

Mt. Hamilton Challenge is even sooner, this Saturday. Too bad that
you're working Saturdays, Mike. There should be a pretty good size
group of us grizzled old mountain goats there for a 7:30 start.

That ride doesn't ever fill up, does it? I had thought
about doing it but would have to do day-of. Plus I still
don't know if I have that day free.

I hope it doesn't fill up, since I didn't send in my advance
payment. I'll be there early Saturday, with my $25 and my food sacks.

How's the weather been up there lately?

You can always see for yourself at the Ham Cam page:

http://mthamilton.ucolick.org/hamcam/

There is a link at the top of the page for current weather conditions.

I'll see you there!
Actually, the Mt. Hamilton Challenge opens at 6:00am
In the past I've hit the road about 6:40am after check-in.
Bikes have to go through a safety inspection, on most bikes, just checking
the brakes.

Do you still have to bring your own bag lunch?

Yes, you have to pack three seperate sacks for three different rest
stops. Although there's talk among the gang about making a coffee
stop in Pleasanton in place of rest stop 3.

22 years ago, I was the first finisher on that ride -- and I did
not start early or cheat! Woohoo.

Way to go! I aiming to finish before dark.

On Saturday, which I would think is representative of this week so far,
it was nice and pleasant and warm on the way up but cold on the top.
During 15 minutes on the top some very cold clouds moved in and it got
wet and colder. Upon leaving, my fingers almost froze, but we dropped
back out of the wet and cold layer about 1000 feet down and back into
nice pleasant stuff. Back at joseph grant park it was warm and balmy
as it was when we started. I was foolish to bring only short fingered
gloves, one light poly and one mid poly layer and a windbreaker.
