I went for a cycle ride today.
Nearly all the drivers who passed me, mostly travelling in convoys,
were ignoring those flashing 'slow down' signs. Is it any wonder that so many people are killed and injured on our roads with such a cavalier attitude to public safety? Not only that but several large lorries and not a few cars passed perilously close to me. -- UK Radical Campaigns www.zing.icom43.net A driving licence is a licence to kill. |

It's always a challenge to see how high you can get it. -- If you can't beat them, arrange to have them beaten |

Nearly all the drivers who passed me, mostly travelling in convoys, No convoys Doug. You mean they were going in the same direction at the same time. It's not quite the same thing is it? As you well know, and as you've been told many times were ignoring those flashing 'slow down' signs. Where are these signs exactly, and how could you tell they were ignoring them ?Do you have a speed detection device fitted to your bicycle? They could be slowing down just by lifting off the accelerator pedal, no need for brakes or brake lights. Is it any wonder that so many people are killed and injured on our roads with such a cavalier attitude to public safety? Not only that but several large lorries and not a few cars passed perilously close to me. How close is "perilously close?". We need to be told. Mike P |

The one nearest to my house flashes "Slow Down" even if you approach it at less than the (30 mph) speed limit (as I usually do). The next nearest (in a 40 limit) does the same, even at (say) 38mph indicated (which is likely to be a true 36 or 37). Remember the story about the boy who cried "wolf"? |

For the Norf Lundun Massif the one going down Muswell Hill tells you your speed (handy as there is a camera shortly afterwards) and on Priory Road there is a bog-standard '30 mph' flasher. -- Come to Dave & Boris - your cycle security experts. |
