Default What is a cyclist?

Motorists on this newsgroup will maintain that however infrequently
they step out of their car and onto a bicycle and peddle just a bit,
that entitles them to denigrate cyclists to the full here.

OTOH purists here will maintain that the only 'real' cyclist is one
who never ever uses a car and regularly cycles quite long distances
instead.

I have an alternative compromise definition for this newsgroup in
particular.

'A real cyclist is one who sometimes cycles but always criticises
motorists much more than they criticise cyclists on this newsgroup.'

Would that be more acceptable do you think?

Doug.

That used to be your definition, when you thought you could use it hide
behind because of the mistaken assumption that you were the only "real"
cyclist.

I wondered how you would try to move the goal posts now that I've
managed to snatch your "real cyclist" label from you.

No they don't

No only you & my your own definition, you are not a 'real' cyclist.

Err no.
Are you trying to change the defination of a 'real' cyclist so you can
pretend to be one?

Doug.

A cyclist is a person who rides a cycle (bi,tri, uni whatever)

Would that be more acceptable do you think?

"A real cyclist is someone who cycles and is interested in cycling"

Doesn't matter what they ride, what they drive, and has nothing to do
with any political affiliation or aim.

A real cyclist is a person who uses a cycle powered by human power,
not a person who uses an illegal 'e-bike'

I think most people would accept that.
