Default More signage - one way streets

If you arrive at a one way street in the middle, say you've come down an
alleyway or pedestrianised area, then you often can't tell it is one
way. If you go against the flow then the 'one way' signs have their
backs towards you! (And the 'no entry' is way behind you.) [Up yours
plod and town planners!]

BTW
'No right turn' only applies to ridden bikes (being a 'vehicle') so I
stop in the middle of the road and walk across then get on again.

You want more signs for the beneifit of pavement cyclists?

You can tell it is one way if you've come down a *road*.

How silly.

Peter does not appear to specify whether the bike is ridden or
pushed through the alleyway or pedestrianised area.

I will always explain revoked keys, unless the UK government
prevents me by using the RIP Act 2000.

In that case Peter has a point and I apologise, and I must admit that I've
found my self in the same situation! But I'm not sure I want the streets
cluttered up with even more lolipop signs for both aesthetic and
visual-overload reasons. Something subtle painted onto the road/pavement
might be OK.

Parked cars all facing one way are a big clue.

Not really, I've seen parked cars facing the wrong way on a one way street.

ISTR that you should observe all traffic signs & signals, even when walking
with a bike. I doubt it would be enforced though.

ISTR that a bike, when pushed, is classed as a burden, not a vehicle.
But the only case law I can think of is Crank v Brooks and that only
covers the specific case of a pedestrian crossing.
