More signage - one way streets
If you arrive at a one way street in the middle, say you've come down an
alleyway or pedestrianised area, then you often can't tell it is one way. If you go against the flow then the 'one way' signs have their backs towards you! (And the 'no entry' is way behind you.) [Up yours plod and town planners!] BTW 'No right turn' only applies to ridden bikes (being a 'vehicle') so I stop in the middle of the road and walk across then get on again. -- PETER FOX Not the same since the deckchair business folded www.eminent.demon.co.uk - Lots for cyclists |

BTW 'No right turn' only applies to ridden bikes (being a 'vehicle') so I stop in the middle of the road and walk across then get on again. How silly. ~PB |

In that case Peter has a point and I apologise, and I must admit that I've found my self in the same situation! But I'm not sure I want the streets cluttered up with even more lolipop signs for both aesthetic and visual-overload reasons. Something subtle painted onto the road/pavement might be OK. ~PB |

ISTR that you should observe all traffic signs & signals, even when walking with a bike. I doubt it would be enforced though. |

ISTR that a bike, when pushed, is classed as a burden, not a vehicle. But the only case law I can think of is Crank v Brooks and that only covers the specific case of a pedestrian crossing.
