The smears on the road give the end result away. How fast was he moving!? Aproximately 10 times faster on the return journey than the outward journey. I'd put it at at least 50mph, and the motorist close to double that. It's the lack of humanity by the other motorists which gets me - they just drive around the carcass until the police stop them. |

Perhaps they did not want to be in the middle of a road unprotected by their usual heavy metal, having just seen that. Still, I think that even I would have felt too ashamed not to go and at least stare more closely and respectfully at the poor sod's remains. |

That's humans for you, way back in the seventies I was traveling in the stop-start traffic on Haverstock Hill when I saw a woman on the pavement collapse, As I was stopped in the traffic I watched, people were walking round her, just about stepping over her, nobody was the slightest interested in her well being, I got out to check only to discover she was dead, I stopped a community type ambulance going the other way who pronounced her dead and called for a collection ambulance. Other motorists in the queue behind me blared their horns apparantly protesting at the delay. |
