I paid too much for mine. I bought it used from a friend for $175.
I rode the thing for 40 miles and then I crashed and bent the aluminum
handlebars. Lucky thing I had some painted steel bars from an old huffy
laying around. They work just fine.

I paid $65 for my latish 80's vintage Norco Bush Pilot. A real beauty with hot pink paint and covered with candy coloured flecks. Rode it for a zillion miles and finally got out a can of bright yellow rust paint and some primer and a decent brush and painted it a colour that I like.

Weighs a ton and rides smooth and stable on city treads pumped to about
75 psi.
The handlebars? The originals still work fine thanks.

Now that would be polishing the turd, wouldn't it?

"Polishing the turd"...Gotta file that one away for future use.

That's a technical term used in engineering. Our motto is you can buy
better but you can't pay more.
