What about about Squirt Long Lasting Dry Chain Lube ? Thanks. A high viscosity oil of some sort, one that will stay on the chain. This will, of course, collect dirt and crud whereupon you will need to clean the chain. I have been riding bikes for over 50 years. Never wore out a chain. Well, it's not the time. It's the mileage per chain. -- - Frank Krygowski |

And have never had a chain that collected that much dirt. Maybe if I rode over a desert. :-) Andy You are riding with 50 year old chain? |

After trying other lubes I now use White Lighting Epic Ride. The stuff is pricey when using the wasteful "prescribed" method but I apply it with a Q-Tip so an 8oz bottle lasts almost a year. Anyhow, since I use that I never had rust on the chain during the wet winter months. One downside are the frequent intervals, 200mi on the road bike and 50mi on the MTB depending on terrain. -- Regards, Joerg http://www.analogconsultants.com/ |

If preventing rust is your only requirement: drown your chain in the stickiest chainlube you can find and do it regurarly. I recommend Rohloff chain oil. Do I use it myself? Hell no. What about about Squirt Long Lasting Dry Chain Lube ? Nope. Lou Thanks. |
