That's a lie.

It is not what the article says at all.

The article's writer claims that up to 30% of drivers in *some* areas
may be without insurance when they drive.

That's not good, of course. But it's a lot less startling than 30% of
the whole nation's drivers being uninsured.

The article even provides a handy list of postcode areas where this "up
to 30%" may apply.

Reading between the lines, those areas may suffer from other social
malaise(s) as well.

This is the problem with half witted cyclists. They read something
online which they don't question because they aren't bright enough.

Crispin is of course a prime example of this stupidity.

The real figure is 4.3% and this figure is going down;

"Phil Gormley of the Association of Chief Police Officers added that
there are 500,000 fewer uninsured vehicles on the roads today compared
with five years ago."

Says the Plankwit, who when told that Government figure suggest that there are between 780,000 and 920,000 casualties on the road each year, divided the miles of road in the UK by the higher estimate to quote the figure of a casualty every 3.92 miles (the actual figure is over 15 times higher). He then spent weeks confusing years with days, believing that he should be seeing 3.92 casualties* lying on the roadside for every mile he drives.

*Not true. He still confuses the word "crash" with "casualty", and thinks that he should be seeing 3.92 crashes for every mile he drives.

Or that's what they say when questioned.....

That's probably greater than the percentage of uninsured cyclists, and
it isn't even compulsory for them.

It's a patent lie.

Ok, then supply proof to the contrary.

Were you the OP?

The article describes "up to"[*] 30% *in some areas*. And then goes on
to list some of the worst residential areas in the UK's conurbations.

[* "up to" being one of the advertising world's worst and most
meaningless weasel phrases]

The OP claimed "30% of drivers - Britain" without reservation or limitation.

And that is such a pathetic lie that it's not necessary to explain further.

A family of three could have one of them uninsured and that would be
over 30 percent. Without any useful figures, like out of one hundred
thousand or something it is pretty pointless speculating even for a
small town.
