Default broken chain

Hi,
I broke the chain on my commuter fixie bike. I found and fixed the
cause of the breakage of the chain.

Now, i have a question whether i can just put in a master link and
continue using the chain ? The concern i have it i will have two master
links within about eight links from each other. Is it safe to have two
master pins this close to each other ?

The chain is a KMC Single Speed chain 1/2" X 1/8" current mileage ~2800
miles.

thanks,
ravi

That's a lot of miles on a chain, especially since you're not coasting.
I'd at least measure it to see if it's worn out.

KMC single speed chains are cheap, it's not worth wearing expensive
rings or track cogs with an old one. Ten bucks, tops.

I have to agree. KMC chains are great and cheap enough to replace three
times a year and not really even notice.
