trike and shaved legs?
Are there any trikers here - or does anybody here know of any - that
shave thier legs? If so, what's thier main reason for doing it? I'm thinking about doing it myself. But purely for the reason so that I'll be identified as a cyclist. Regards, Cullen |

Why the hell does any male cyclist shve [his] legs? 1. Fashion statement. 2. It is claimed that "road rash" is easier to treat with shaved skin. 3. False belief that shaved legs are more aerodynamic. No. 2 would not really apply to trike riding, since unless one does something really boneheaded on a trike, road rash will not occur. -- Tom Sherman - Holstein-Friesland Bovinia The weather is here, wish you were beautiful |

Then there are serious wannabees who do it to complete the camouflage look of their lycra kit. Most American women shave (or other wise depilitate their legs and other naughty bits for reasons other than bike racing. Trikers are a breed apart. We emulate Larry Varney (all bow and murmur appropriate homage). Beard, headband, aerobelly and hairy legs are signs of enlightenment as would be hippie love beads, leather wrist bands and all manner of weird cloth dreck hanging over our trikes from poles. -- Posted via a free Usenet account from http://www.teranews.com |

Funny, but this seems to have some truth....we had a 'bent rally on the Silver Comet Trail (ATL) back in May of this year....and I tell ya, many of the trike riders had the "Larry Varney" look to them. Not all of them, mind you, but enough to make you wonder.... |

What a work of art (read piece of ****) he was and, no doubt, still is. However, he may be dead by now which is good riddance to bad rubbish! ... The less said about Larry Varney the better. I do not know how you get to be such an old coot as him. Surely he was young and handsome once, so why is he so old and ugly now? Yet, he imagines that young girls want to hang out with him. Folks, this is what is known as total insanity.... What I want to know is if Larry Varney would pay full retail price for a BigHa. -- Tom Sherman - Holstein-Friesland Bovinia The weather is here, wish you were beautiful -- Posted via a free Usenet account from http://www.teranews.com |
