An excellent video! - "Cyclists, motorists we all share the road [...] respect
the road, it belongs to us all."

But alas cyclists contribute bugger all to the roads.

A bit of education for you:

Yes they do, they pay council tax, councils are responsible for the
local roads.
Car tax is a tax on *cars*, it is NOT a road tax.

Many cyclists drive cars and pay car tax. As I do.

I will admit that when I drive over the Humber Bridge I don't pay council tax to Lincolnshire CC and so use their roads without paying towards them. I do pay a bridge toll though, but I don't think that counts as a tax.

We are in the minority alas, as 7/10 new car drivers now pay no VED at all.

I'm afraid not. You only pay road tax if you use the vehicle on the road.

You pay road tax on each vehicle.

And of course there's fuel duty....

But the increased Road Tax on larger vehicles means the Guvmint revenue
hasn't decreased.
