Well done.

Few things to get used to though. Some cars wizz past really close
which scares me a bit.

I don't know what sort of roads you are using but study a map to see
if there are any alternatives. Even for short distances, routes that
are non-optimum by car can work well on a bike. (Navigating on a bike
requires a different mindset to driving - never ask a non-cyclist for
directions in an unfamiliar place.)

Good point, there are routes I use on a road bike that I would not
consider using by car. Roads with fast flowing traffic are generally
best avoided where possible and I usually only use them as a last
resort. Likewise, B and C roads with little or no traffic or
single-track roads are best avoided in the car, but are ok as a last
resort when driving.

the winter as well as a woolly hat. *A cold brain makes poor decisions.

I suggest you put your woolly hat on right now. *And put a pinch of sea salt

Oh, and a seaweed tablet as well. *Almost forgot that.

Yeah, thanks, I was forgetting this morning it's been working so well.

My wife has hidden our tablets so that she doesn't run out.

That is true - my commuting time is 100% reliable, whereas drivers are
always swanning in late blaming "the traffic".

Not if you fall off and bump your head Simon, eh? :-)

Yes - the last time that happened was seven years ago and I had to
make a detour to the police station to a) report the injury and b)
tell them about the diesel spill that caused my front wheel to vanish.
I did not take their advice to visit A+E though as I did not want to
wait four hours for yet another helmet lecture and then being told to
bugger off home :-)

That's odd - I was sure that you had said that you were only ever involved in
a single incident in thousands of miles.

Oh - here are your previous quotes - you need to have a good memory if you are
going to lie you know:

================================================== ==============

I have done 80000 miles with only one minor accident.

I have only been hit the once by a car in 80000 miles

I have done 80000 miles with no helmet and have never hit my head
once.

I have only hit my head once in 80000 miles
================================================== =============

Not exactly consistent comments are they - you little Porker you.

The use of the passive to try and give some general justification to a

Any minute now JMS will apologise for doing both of these things in
the past. Any minute now.

No - I am afraid I won't.

Ah, so you are a *hypocritical* anonymous coward. Thanks for clearing
that up.

I am working on something which will be much more
rewarding.

Oh good, I hope it involves a short pier and a pair of good stout

I do not recognise you as Judge, Jury and Police of this newsgroup.
You want to attempt that which is incorrect? Go ahead.

Incorrect? *In what way?

Are you denying using the posting names of:

Front Mech
Billsgate
Ricky Bikebloke
Sedentary IgnorantPopulist
J.M.Messie

I have said - you seem to be a bit of a Porker here.

incorrect means wrong

Wrong in what way?

I see that you are not denying using those names.

What a tosser you are.

Let's take your posting in this thread:

and then of course you were actually caught using the email address you had

J.M.Messie

It is wrong. I invite you to prove your incorrect assertion.

By the way, Judge Judith, will we be following an adversarial or
inquisitorial system in your Court of uk.rec.cycling?
